Feed your kitten 3 times a day. Morning, midday, and evening meal. Put food down for 30 minutes and then after that time pick up remainder. Water should be available 24/7. I give canned food as the midday meal. Your kitten might not eat every meal. But if he misses a meal, he should be acting hungry at the next one. You need to make sure your kitten is growing and acting well. Some owners weigh their kitten regularly to make sure they keep gaining. If they are gaining too much then you will need to give less or change wet food amount to be less. I give the Nuvet Supplement on top or mixed into the wet food at the noon feeding.
Feeding adult: Feeding a grown cat, over a year old, twice a day is fine. Going over 12 hrs between meals can cause nausea for any age cat. So make sure you offer your cat food within 12 hrs of last feeding. Keep water available 24/7.
